National Investigation Agency (NIA) has offered a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to the arrest of Basit Ahmed Dar, a militant commander affiliated with TRF (The Resistance Front) based in Kulgam..

The reward has been announced in connection with case 32/2021/NIA/DLI registered against Basit Ahmed Dar from Redwani Payeen, Kulgam in south Kashmir.

The NIA has assured that the identity of the informant responsible for his arrest will be kept confidential.

Officials state that Basit was allegedly involved in a series of civilian killings in October. He went missing from his home in Redwani's Kulgam since April the previous year and later joined TRF, which is considered a front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba. After the death of TRF commander Abbas Sheikh, Basit reportedly declared himself as the leader of the group.

TRF came into existence after the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019. Indian security agencies claim that TRF is an offshoot of the Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group. However, it is important to verify the accuracy and current status of these claims through reliable news sources or official statements.
