(TTK):Marking the first expansion of oil marketing companies' retail network in the region since the abrogation of Article 370 and the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have invited applications from citizens to participate in the bidding process for fuel stations in both urban and rural areas, including new highways and unexplored tourist destinations.
The decision to open these fuel stations is aimed at expediting development efforts and further boosting the growing economy of the country. Interested applicants can visit the website www.petrolpumpdealerchayan.in for detailed information and submit their applications online, along with the processing fees, by September 27. While suitable land availability is crucial for the advertised locations, applicants for SC/ST (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe) locations can apply initially without land, but they will be expected to provide land when called for.
Dharmendra Singh, Deputy General Manager (Corporate Communications) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited, highlighted that the expansion of the retail outlet network will contribute to the country's economy and facilitate development activities. It aims to meet the increasing energy demand resulting from significant economic growth, particularly in emerging markets such as urban areas, upcoming highways, agricultural pockets, rural, remote, and far-flung areas.
Singh further emphasized that the network expansion will ensure the availability of quality petroleum products while creating employment opportunities for entrepreneurs. The dealer selection process will prioritize ease of doing business and has introduced user-friendly and simplified online application forms. Transparency will be enhanced through a computerized draw of lots or bid opening conducted by an independent agency. This expansion of dealership opportunities allows entrepreneurs to associate with Fortune 500 companies, presenting a significant opportunity for them.
