The army has joined the rescue team to retrieve the body of a minor who drowned in a flood channel in Bemina, Srinagar.
An 8-year-old boy named Ikhlas, residing in Hamdaniya Colony, drowned in a flood channel near Mithayi Bund on Sunday.
After the drowning incident, local residents, along with the SDRF team and police, initiated a rescue operation but were unsuccessful in retrieving the body on the first day.
The operation was halted for the night and resumed on Monday with the addition of the army to the team.
