Jammu and Kashmir Receive Heavy Rainfall, More Expected

J&k, June 26 (TTK): Parts of Jammu and Kashmir experienced heavy rainfall, providing relief from the ongoing heat wave conditions, as the meteorological department predicts further precipitation in the coming days.

According to a meteorological department official in Srinagar, the region can expect generally cloudy weather with intermittent light to moderate rain over the next 24 hours. On June 27, intermittent rain is expected, with some areas in the Jammu region likely to receive moderate to heavy showers in the morning

From June 28-29, intermittent light rain is anticipated, while June 30 is expected to have partly cloudy weather, with rain likely in the evening.

The official cautioned that the heavy rain may lead to localized flash floods and mudslides, particularly in vulnerable spots in the Jammu region. They also mentioned the expected rise in water levels in rivers, streams, and nallas. As a result, residents are advised to remain cautious and alert during the active phase of the monsoon in Jammu and Kashmir.
