Four Members of a Deceptive Gang Apprehended

Recently, the authorities successfully apprehended a group of individuals involved in a honey trap scheme. The four members of this deceitful gang have been identified as follows:

1. Firdous Ahmed Mir, a resident of Rainawari, who masqueraded as a fake Superintendent of Police (SP).
2. Mohd Tariq Mir from Lal Bazar, who presented himself as a false reporter.
3. Ashiya from Bemina, who operated as the pseudo honey trap girl.
4. Masrat Mir from Habba Kadal, who posed as a fake crime branch officer.

The modus operandi of this group revolved around luring innocent and unsuspecting individuals and extorting money from them. The honey trap girl, Ashiya, played a significant role in setting up meetings with the targeted victims. Subsequently, the other gang members would impersonate professionals such as reporters or police officers and proceed to blackmail the victims.

During their illegal activities, they utilized a residence belonging to one of the female accused in Mehjoor Nagar. However, their criminal operations came to an end with the intervention of the authorities.

The case has been filed under FIR no. 68/2023, with charges including Sections 392, 472, and 419 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), at Sadar Police Station.
The authorities are now conducting a thorough investigation to ensure justice prevails in this matter.
