*Police seize properties worth lakhs from drug smugglers in Baramulla..
June 29(TTK):Taking a strong stance against drug smugglers and their detrimental impact on society, the police have seized properties worth lakhs from individuals involved in drug trafficking in Baramulla
Under the supervision of SSP Baramulla, Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, a police team led by SDPO Pattan, with the assistance of SHO PS Pattan, successfully attached an under-construction house spanning 10 marlas in Main Mohalla Pattan. The property belonged to a drug smuggler named Barakat Ali Main, son of Mohammad Maqbool Main and resident of Mian Mohalla Pattan. The legal sanction from competent authorities was obtained prior to this action, as the said house was directly linked to case FIR No. 84/2023, under section 8/22 of the NDPS Act, filed at Police Station Pattan. The investigation conclusively revealed that the property was utilized for illicit drug trafficking by the said individual.
Similarly, Baramulla Police, led by SDPO Kreeri Shri Khalid Ashraf-JKPS, and assisted by SHO PS Kreeri, seized a Hyundai i10 vehicle bearing registration number DL2AE-2820. The vehicle was owned by Abdul Rehman Malik, son of Ghulam Mohd and resident of Kalantra Payeen. Legal sanction was obtained from competent authorities prior to the seizure, as the vehicle was directly connected to case FIR No. 33/2023, under sections 8/20 and 29 of the NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Kreeri. The investigation confirmed that the vehicle was being used for illicit drug trafficking by the individual.
