A Village Boy's Journey from Machipora to Japan: Fulfilling a Dream...
(TTK)SRINAGAR: In the secluded village of Machipora, located approximately five kilometers from the bustling town of Handwara, Danish Javid Bhat, an exceptional 10th-grade student, has brought immense pride to his entire district. His remarkable accomplishment lies in his selection for the prestigious Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Programme in Science as part of the Sakura Exchange Programme, scheduled to take place on November 5th this year. Out of thousands of candidates across the nation, Danish emerged as one of the top 60, proudly representing India alongside two others. He secured his ticket to this highly esteemed program by showcasing his ingenious creation: a versatile, multipurpose stove at the renowned National Level Exhibition and Project Competition (NLEPC). This project has garnered widespread recognition and praise.
Danish Javid Bhat, the youngest of three siblings and a student at Government Boys High School, attributes his inspiration for the model stove to his surroundings. "The traditional chimney and stove we locally use here in Kashmir contribute to air pollution. This gave me the idea to embark on an innovative journey to create a multipurpose stove."
Collaborating with his mentor, Abbas, Danish diligently developed and refined his model. "During my research, Abbas sir accompanied me to various locations to work on the model," said Danish. Danish envisions a bright future for himself and encourages others to embrace hard work to nurture their innate talents.
"Instead of engaging in futile activities, everyone should work hard. Channelize your inner talent and skills in a positive direction. Make a name for yourself and make your parents, teachers, and your state proud. Most importantly, make yourself proud."
Although financial constraints posed a significant challenge, Danish's indomitable spirit prevailed. His father, a hardworking tractor driver, often struggled to make ends meet for their family, including Danish's elder brothers. However, the provision of funds by the government alleviated Danish's financial burden, paving the way for his success. Danish faced his own financial struggles, but he expresses deep gratitude to his father for his unwavering support and encouragement.
Abbas Ahmed Gojree, a science teacher at Government Upper Primary School, Machipora, commends Danish's father for playing a vital role in his remarkable journey. Abbas witnessed Danish's extraordinary potential firsthand and recognized his bright and innovative ideas. Danish's curiosity about science was evident from the beginning, and it led to the creation of the multipurpose stove model. Abbas aided Danish in executing the idea, and the rest is history.
