Pakistani Parliament Urges Sweden to Take Action Against Quran Desecration"...

Islamabad: The Parliament of Pakistan unanimously passed a resolution today, calling on Sweden to take decisive action against individuals involved in the desecration of the Holy Quran. In light of the upcoming Sanctity of Quran day, a special joint session of both houses of Parliament was convened to address the issue.
Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, presented the resolution, emphasizing the importance of respecting all religions, beliefs, and sacred texts. The resolution urged Swedish authorities to take appropriate measures against the perpetrators, including legal action, and to prevent similar acts from occurring in the future. It also called for Islamophobia to be addressed with the same level of seriousness as hatred directed at other religions.

The recent incident in which an individual tore up and burned a copy of the Holy Quran outside Stockholm's central mosque has sparked widespread anger within the Muslim community. The resolution commended the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for its efforts in compiling recommendations and devising a collective strategy to combat Islamophobia during its recent special meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his address to the Parliament, emphasized that the teachings of the Holy Quran promote love, respect, and patience worldwide. He stressed the importance of respecting all religions to safeguard the reputation of Islam and its sacred book. The Prime Minister further asserted that such incidents, including the one in Sweden, are part of a larger conspiracy aimed at creating divisions between Christians and Muslims. He called for strong condemnation of such actions.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also encouraged peaceful protests on Friday, providing an opportunity for the people to express their opposition to the incident and convey a message of unity to the world. The government has announced plans to hold rallies on Friday to uphold the sanctity of the Quran and demonstrate solidarity with the Muslim community.
