Samba Incident: Six Old Mortar Shells Discovered, Sabotage Ruled Out...
Samba/Jammu, July 7: Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district made a significant discovery on Friday, as six old mortar shells were recovered, according to officials.
The police have taken necessary precautions and called a bomb disposal squad to safely handle and defuse the shells, which were found concealed in the bushes on one side of the Jammu-Pathankot Highway.
After a preliminary investigation, the police have ruled out any possibility of sabotage in this incident. Instead, they suspect that these shells may have been part of the scrap materials being transported by local scrap dealers. It is believed that the dealers might have discarded these rusted old shells in that area to avoid scrutiny at a nearby police post.
An ongoing investigation is being conducted to gather further information and determine the exact circumstances surrounding the discovery of these shells.
