Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, recently visited the revered Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar and emphasized the need to promote 'shrine tourism' in Kashmir. He expressed that the upcoming festival of Eid-ul-Adha symbolizes peace and harmony.

During his visit, Sinha reviewed the preparations and facilities at the shrine, which houses the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Quoting a Hadith of the Prophet (SAW), he highlighted the importance of purifying the heart to achieve overall purity of the body.

Sinha suggested that just as people from different parts of India visit the Amarnath Yatra, they can also explore other revered shrines in the Valley, such as Hazratbal and Charar-e-Sharief. He encouraged the revival of shrine tourism to attract visitors from across the country.

The Lieutenant Governor welcomed feedback from the people, the Waqf Board, and other stakeholders regarding the promotion of shrine tourism. He expressed his willingness to engage in discussions and encouraged individuals to reach out to him or invite him for further dialogue.

Furthermore, Sinha offered prayers for peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir during his visit to the shrine.{TTK}
